Correcte-moi ci je suis incorrecte, mais shouldn't it be 'mon ami', 'ami' being without an 'e'...since 'ami' is masculine?

Good question Randa, but no. Not in this case since the word ami starts with a vowel. You can't say ma amie. You use "mon amie" so that you won't have two vowels running together or often times you will see contractions. Such as "j'aime ton amie Auditrix" instead of "je aime...". Make sense?

still, the word has to be put in the feminine and should be "astucieuse" since it is the amie (fem) who is astute.
